The Mad-Swirl is a design I stumbled upon and borrowed from other crafts. Being the first to apply, perfect, and share the Mad-Swirl in rod building, I named the Mad-Swirl after my daughter, Maddie. Essentially, it is very similar to hydrodipping, but you do not need all the supplies required with hydrodipping. This just requires paint, and a bucket of water. There is some prep depending on the medium you choose for you base material. A Mad-Swirl can be added to grips, reel seats, blanks, sunglass frames, piggy banks, your kid’s electrical faceplates, etc.. I think you get the idea. If you have any questions about prep or the paint, I sell the paint and I am a representative for Magic Marble Paint, so feel free to give me a shout at ReedRods@gmail.com.
